65 players earn 2A IBCA All-State recognition

BEDFORD PARK - The Illlinois Basketball Coaches Association released this year's Class 2A all-state team selections today. Only one local player, Unity standoutRaegen Stringer, received a nod from the prep coaches' association.

Stringer, who will continue her basketball career at Illinois College, averaged 15.5 points, four steals, and four assists per game. The Rocket was named to the third team.

IBCA announces Class 1A girls All-State basketball teams

The senior tallied 71 points and 23 rebounds in a single day in the two contest she played in at CEFCU Arena.

Robinson defeats Regina Dominican in 3rd place game

Regina Dominican's Payton Olszewski and Robinson's Katelyn Jones go after a loose ball during the third quarter. The Lady Maroons defeated the Panthers 51-44 to win the Class 2A third-place game on Thursday. Olszewski finished the game with six rebounds and four assists. Jones, who made all six of her free-throw attempts, scored 12 points.
