CHAMPAIGN - Urbana's Emiliano Bedolla shoots in to grab Geneseo's Devan Hornback leg during their Class 2A 132-pound first-round match at the IHSA Individual Wrestling State Finals on Friday. Bedolla fell by technical fall to Hornback 21-4 in the third period and was eliminated from the tournament.

Jaylen Torres wins second match at state, defeats defending state champion in the consolation round

CHAMPAIGN - St. Francis's Jaylen Torres (30-3) fends off an attack from Althoff Catholic's Jason Dowell (31-2) in their Class 1A 285-pound consolation second-round match at the IHSA Individual Wrestling State Finals on Friday. Torres, who was runner up in 2024 and the #2 seed this year, went on to win the match by pin eliminating last year's state champion from this year's tournament.

CHAMPAIGN - Althoff Catholic's Jason Dowell wrestles Seneca's Jeremy Gagnon in their Class 1A 285-pound match at the IHSA Individual Wrestling State Finals on Thursday. Dowell, the Class 1A defending state champion, fell in the quarterfinal 10-7 in sudden victory. Dowell is back in action again on Friday with his focus on a third place trophy.

CHAMPAIGN - Unity's Taylor Finley is tripped up by Reed-Custer's Jeremy Eggleston during their Class 1A 138-pound first-round match at the IHSA Individual Wrestling State Finals on Thursday. Finley won the match, advancing to the quarterfinal round with major decision win, 10-2. This weekend, 672 wrestlers will compete for state titles across three classes at the State Farm Center on the University of Illinois Campus.

Brazelton advances to quarterfinals at state for the Rockets

CHAMPAIGN - Unity's Holden Brazelton (47-7) is declared winner of his 150 pound match against Gianni Panozzo from Clifton Central on Thursday at the IHSA Individual Wrestling State Finals. Brazelton won the bout via tech fall, 16-0. The win sets him in the path of Vandalia's Dillon Hinton later today for a spot in Thursday's semifinals.
