Rockets improve to 4-0 in conference play
Taylor Henry recorded five steals in the Rockets home game against Rantoul on Tuesday. She scored eight points along the way and had four rebounds to help the Unity (16-4 overall, 4-0 IPC) girls team clip the Eagles, 37-8.
Maddie Reed, who was 5-5 from the free-throw line, led all scorers with the 13 points she collected in the first half of the conference game.
Though scoreless, Erika Steinman led the team effort in the paint with five boards. Raegan Stringer and Lauren Miller chipped another four rebounds apiece as well as chalked up four points and a pair of assists each in the rout.

Armstrong rains treys
St. Joseph-Ogden senior Ella Armstrong hit three treys in the first quarter on her way to a game-high 14 points against Illinois Valley Central (8-12) in Thursday's 46-26 win over the Grey Ghost. The Spartans exploded early to a 14-point lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to five points from Ashlyn Lannert, two baskets from Payton Jacob, and Armstrong's nine. Marley Williamson led IVC's offense with 13 points. Sage Geltmaker added six points to round out the top scorers for the hosts. Undefeated in conference play, the Spartans (13-5 overall, 3-0 IPC) play their next two contests on the road starting tomorrow with Mattoon.
