Meharry leads Rockets at shootout, hard-fought effort falls short

Unity's Claire Meharry drives to the paint in Unity's Country Financial Shootout game against Watseka. Meharry finished the game with 12 points. Combined with Lauren Haas' 12-point output, it was enough to stave off a late fourth-quarter surge of five unanswered scores by the Warriors, who went on to win the non-conference game 52-46 on Saturday. Spartan volleyball team notch win

St. Joseph-Ogden's Becca Steinbach and Rachel Divan (right) team up to block a hit from Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin during first set action of their regional semifinal match on Tuesday. The Spartans, who won the postseason opener in straight sets, 24-14, 25-16, advance to the Thursday's regional title contest against St. Teresa. The Bulldogs advanced to their second meeting against SJO after knocking of Hoopeston Area, 25-16, 25-9, in an earlier match. More Sentinel photos coming soon.

Friday Night Lights are back!

St. Joseph-Ogden senior Coby Miller waves to parents and fans at the SJO Kickoff last Friday. Miller and the Spartans will host Monticello to start their campaign for a 2021 football playoff berth. Prior to the opening kick, a service remembering head coach Dick Duval, who passed away Thursday evening after a long battle with cancer, will be held.
